BULL Wallet 6.14: New Exchange Features, Better Settings, and Lightning Is Back

BULL Wallet 6.14 brings two BULL Exchange features straight into the app: AutoBuy and limit orders, available if you choose to connect your Bull Bitcoin account. Lightning payments and L-BTC to on-chain bitcoin transfers are back. You also get a redesigned Settings menu you can search, a rebuilt Tor integration and more.

BULL Wallet exists to let you manage your bitcoin yourself, without custody and without giving up convenience. Version 6.14 puts the BULL Exchange tools our clients use every week inside the wallet, and makes everything around your keys more private. Here's what's new.

AutoBuy: every deposit becomes bitcoin

BULL Wallet is a fully self-custodial wallet that works on its own, with no account needed. The Exchange features below are optional: they appear when you connect your Bull Bitcoin account, and every bitcoin you buy is sent straight to a wallet you control.

AutoBuy converts every fiat deposit that reaches your Bull Bitcoin account into bitcoin as soon as it arrives, and sends it to your wallet. You can now turn it on from the Exchange tab of BULL Wallet: pick your default wallet, on Bitcoin, Lightning or Liquid, and you never have to log in or place a buy order again.

Pair it with a recurring transfer from your bank and part of every paycheck becomes bitcoin in your own wallet, on autopilot. AutoBuy is different from DCA, which buys on a fixed schedule (hourly, daily, weekly or monthly) from your account balance. You can now run both at the same time.

Limit orders: buy at your price

A limit order buys bitcoin only when the price drops to the level you set, instead of buying at the current price. In BULL Wallet, you either type a target price or choose a discount from the index price, and when the order fills, your bitcoin goes straight to the wallet you selected.

You can keep up to five limit orders open at once, follow them from the Exchange tab, and cancel them one by one or all together. Never miss a dip again.

Lightning payments are back

Lightning payments are working again in BULL Wallet. You can send and receive Lightning payments through your Instant Payments Wallet, and convert your L-BTC back to on-chain bitcoin. Liquid payments on BULL Exchange have resumed too.

To move your L-BTC to on-chain bitcoin, tap Transfer, choose Instant payments as the source and Secure Bitcoin as the destination, then enter the amount. Auto Transfer can also do it for you whenever your Instant Payments Wallet goes above the balance you set. Current limits are listed in Lightning and Liquid Are Back on BULL Wallet.

Settings have been reorganized into clear categories: App, Backup, Wallet and Exchange. The biggest change is the search bar at the top, so you no longer have to dig through menus to find an option.

Type what you're looking for and jump straight to it. Looking for your Tor settings? Search "tor" and they're right there.

A new Screen Privacy option also lets you decide whether the app blocks screenshots and hides its preview when you switch apps.

Your recovery phrase stays off your phone's keyboard

When you type your recovery phrase, BULL Wallet now uses its own keyboard instead of your phone's. Third-party keyboards and autocorrect can see and remember what you type, and your recovery words should never go through them.

The new keyboard only lets you type letters that lead to a real recovery word, so typos are impossible. For extra peace of mind, one key scrambles the layout on every tap, so nobody looking over your shoulder can follow what you type.

Rebuilt Tor integration

Tor has been rebuilt from the ground up. The built-in Tor protects the connection to your encrypted backup and to any custom .onion Electrum server you add, and it remembers your settings when you restart the app. If your network blocks Tor, the automatic mode switches to Snowflake to get you through.

Built-in Tor does not cover all of the app's traffic. If you want everything to go through Tor, run Orbot in VPN mode on your phone.

And many more improvements

Version 6.14 also improves error messages, Exchange reconnection, wallet synchronization and coin selection. Developers and advanced users can read every change in the 6.14 release notes on GitHub.

What is the difference between AutoBuy and DCA?

AutoBuy converts each fiat deposit into bitcoin as soon as it arrives. DCA buys on a fixed schedule, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. You can use both at the same time.
